#1 Electric Auto Association
The Electric Auto Association (EAA) has over one thousand members internationally, with most in the United States. Members of the EAA receive the monthly “Current EVents” magazine.
Many members also belong to one of more than fifty chapters, which serve a local area and meet periodically to exchange information pertinent to electric transportation
#2 World Electric Vehicle Association
Launched in 1990, the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) is a non-profit organization with the objective of promoting the research, development, and deployment of electric drive vehicles.
WEVA organizes the International Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS) series, the World Electric Vehicle Journal, and bestows the E-Visionary Award upon cities that are leading the charge in electric drive promotion and deployment across the world.
WEVA consists of three regional organizations – the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the European Association for Battery, Hybrid and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (AVERE) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP).
These three international associations promote the electric vehicle concepts and policies in their respective regions of North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
#3 Plug in America
Plug In America (PIA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that promotes and advocates the use of plug-in cars, trucks and sports utility vehicles (SUVs) powered by domestic and renewable electricity which it claims will help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, improve the global environment and reduce greenhouse gases and climate change.
PIA advocates the development of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, and other vehicles which use electricity, from the power grid or from electricity-generating devices such as solar cells, as a substantial source of motive energy.
#4 International Council on Clean Transportation
The International Council on Clean Transportation is an independent nonprofit organization founded to provide first-rate, unbiased research and technical and scientific analysis to environmental regulators.
Their mission is to improve the environmental performance and energy efficiency of road, marine, and air transportation, in order to benefit public health and mitigate climate change.
#5 International Energy Agency
The International Energy Agency provides data, analysis, and solutions on all fuels and technologies. The International Energy Agency is a Paris-based autonomous intergovernmental organization established in the framework of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1974 in the wake of the 1973 oil crisis.
The IEA was initially dedicated to responding to physical disruptions in the supply of oil, as well as serving as an information source on statistics about the international oil market and other energy sectors.
The IEA acts as a policy adviser to its member states but also works with non-member countries, especially China, India, and Russia.
The Agency’s mandate has broadened to focus on the “3Es” of effectual energy policy: energy security, economic development, and environmental protection. The latter has focused on mitigating climate change.
The IEA has a broad role in promoting alternate energy sources (including renewable energy), rational energy policies, and multinational energy technology co-operation.
#6 Electric Power Research Institute
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) conducts research, development, and demonstration projects for the benefit of the public in the United States and internationally.
As an independent, nonprofit organization for public interest energy and environmental research, they focus on electricity generation, delivery, and use in collaboration with the electricity sector, its stakeholders and others to enhance the quality of life by making electric power safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible.
#7 Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles
SMEV is the registered association representing Indian manufacturers of electric vehicles (EV) and electric vehicle components. SMEV works closely with the central and state governments to assist the formulation of policies and processes supporting the EV ecosystem.
