#1 Jaguar Land Rover Plans to work on fuel cell SUV

Electric vehicle manufacturers are trying to improve the battery performance of the vehicles. Along with the pure battery electric vehicle technology, a few manufacturers looking forward to developing hydrogen fuel cells for automobiles.

AutoExpress reports that the Jaguar Land Rover who was not in the list of pro- FCV manufacturers is going to develop its own fuel cell SUV in partnership with several other companies.

AutoExpress says that JLR collaborates with Delta Motorsport, Marcell Automotive Systems, and UKBIC to work on the government-funded program called Project Zeus.

BMW, Hyundai, and Toyota are also working on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Mercedes Benz, and Volkswagen were invested on FCV research but recently announced that they are going to stop all funding and redirect it towards the Battery Electric Vehicles.

#2 Plug-in electric car sales up in May 2020 by 40% in Switzerland

The good news from Switzerland is that the plug-in electric car sales went up to 40% last month. A total of 1311 new electric cars were registered in the month of May 2020.

Now the total market share of plug in electric cars in Switzerland is 10%.

If we look into the list of the top-selling electric car in Switzerland, Tesla Model 3 tops the list with a total sale of the 1235 year to date and 146 in May 2020.

#3 Electrify America completes the first cross country fast-charging EV route

Now you may travel from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. without any range anxiety in your electric car. Electrify America has completed its first cross country DC fast charging route for EVs.

It says that the charging stations are positioned at an average distance of 70 miles apart.

Most of the Electrify America charging stations are 150 kW CCS standard charging stations. At some locations they use 350 kW charging stations.

Electrify America says that it plans to complete another cross county route connection San Diego and Jacksonville on September 2020.

It’s interesting that the installation is funded by Volkswagen as part of the diesel emission cheating settlement. [Reference]
